They have changed their menu and now have fantastic cooks. The food is amazing and well priced. The drinks are dirt cheap. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Oh did I mention how much better the food is..... :-)

Love my night caps at the Ranch Club! The best music in town, everyone is dancing and having a good time. The bar is stocked with games like pool, darts, horseshoes, and Idaho Lottery!!! Are you feelin' lucky? If you can get past the smoke, you can have a memorable not-so memorable time at the Ranch Club.

Always have a great time playing pool and listening to the DJ's here. The only drawback is you can smoke in this bar, so wear some throw away clothes because they might not come back to their normal smell. You can gamble, listen to relevant and old school hip-hop, play pool, play horseshoes and hang out on the patio. Oh and the drinks are more than reasonable. Overall fantastically fun place! Al and the staff are awesome.

Terrible. I literally spent five minutes inside before leaving. Smoking is allowed inside because this place is still living in the 19th century and is unaware of the effects of smoking, lung cancer, and second hand smoke. Didnt try the food or drinks because i didn't feel like suffocating while i wait for my food.

I travel throughout the west on business and moving my office to the Boise area upcoming. FINALLY a I found a GREAT bar! Freindly service, great value, a wide choice of drinks and eats, bartenders that know what they are doing, pool tables, darts, video machines, horse shoes and the list goes on. I am opening another office in the area along with a beef jerky business as well. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners who specifiacaly mentioned thier business model offering great service, entertainment on a nightly basis and wanting everyone to make it safely home. OH and for the single guys? You won't be disappointed. Lots of pretty single girls of all ages. Thanks for having such a great establishment!

Always fun! Owners and staff really make you feel welcome and actually care. This is a bar with activities like dancing, pool, video games, horse shoes, etc. Don't confuse this place for a nice date night dinner spot (although the food will surprise you! Regular bar food and all that but they also do a great ribeye steak and daily specials). As far as a fun bar goes with great staff, energetic atmosphere and big patio, and lots of Idaho history, it's perfect! It only gets minus points for smoking...but that isn't a minus for everyone and isn't that bad when you're there. My friends and I have made this a regular stop, and so should you.

They had an open shuffleboard table, that's the only plus. This place reminds me of all the reasons I disliked going to school in Northern Michigan. Sticky floors, brutish bouncers, loud drunks. Bad flashbacks - it's just not my thing.

Smoky but kind of a cool dive bar. We went there for lunch and the bacon cheeseburger was pretty good. I'm giving it a bad review because they wouldn't accept the restaurant.com certificate that was still valid. I wouldn't have tried the place without this gift certificate.

I'd driven by this place about a million times and was intrigued by the funny signs (something about cold beers, naked girls, and good liars) and the old school Garden City signage. I wondered if it was the sort of dive bar you -want- to go to or the sort you really -don't- want to go to. Was a little scared to try it though, because - hello, dive bar! Anyhow, the combination of Friday night prime rib dinner and a friend's recommendation enticed the husband and I to finally try it. First walking in, I was like "hmmm." I felt more than a little out of place - it was early for this kind of bar - 7pm - and mostly empty except for card players and a few people at the pool tables. We sat outside on the patio, where I felt immediately more at home (in part because we ran into friends; in part because it wasn't dark), and ordered beer from a cute tattooed waitress. They had a good selection on draft (draught?). The menu was a nice range of bar food, but I didn't look too closely because I knew I wanted the prime rib, which came with soup (clam chowder - excellent) and a potato. The prime rib was smoked and cooked very well. I wasn't expecting such good food from a bar. Three beers and a couple of shots later, the dance floor was heating up. It's the sort of place where people know each other, but were friendly if they didn't know you. Mostly it was a jeans and t-shirt place, but I was wearing a cute skirt and top left over from work and didn't get any funny 'who's this chick with the outfit' looks. The DJ played really good music. Considering how many people were smoking (I don't smoke, yuk), it wasn't bad at all. I was home in bed by midnight, but that's just because I'm that sort of girl. I suspect it was thumping till closing, but I've got a few too many miles on me to find out. Final analysis: I had a great time and recommend it if you know what you're getting into. This is a bar with good food, but it's a bar first. There's smoking and laughter and dancing and fun.

Out on a date, dinner and the theater (a performance at the VAC). We thought we'd hit the Stagecoach Inn. We parked at the VAC and started walking, but the snow confused us and somehow we ended up walking into the Ranch Club. I know it sounds ludicrous but this is a true story. It was really snowy and cold and those relics of the '50's on Chinden in Garden City all start to look alike when you are in need of warm comfort food. The "Prime Rib Sat. Night" marque threw us off. Well let me just say that we should have been tipped off by the stripper and her butt-rock boyfriend coming in behind us. The way these kids dress these days, sheesh. We walked into a fat fist of cigarette smoke punching us in the face as we opened the door into the bar. In our hypothermic daze, our rapid cognition was compromised and when we pulled 180 there was too much commotion with the Garden City homecoming couple so we plunged into the bar hoping to find the smoke free restaurant area. Instead when we stumbled into another room I think we sprang a private poker game. Whoops! Try another door. Just before having to drop and crawl, we touch another exit door to make sure it is not hot and burst out into a junky front porch, walled off from Chinden by lattice work. Cowboy bars always have lattice in their outdoor areas. Trapped! This is not really an exit. We collect a lungfull of fresh car fumes and realize we might be able to jimmy a "gate" open to get to the sidewalk. Sucess!! Ahh Garden City, you never disappoint.
